DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware's state auditor says there's no proof that a multimillion-dollar energy efficiency project involving legislative mall buildings will ever pay off for taxpayers.

The project is part of a $67.4 million energy savings initiative by the Sustainable Energy Utility involving a variety of state facilities. The SEU is a state-created nonprofit closely tied to Sen. Harris McDowell III, D-Wilmington, its co-founder and chairman.

DOVER, Del. (AP) - A state oversight panel charged with helping promote energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in Delaware is working to get its energy conservation programs back up and running.

Members of the Sustainable Energy Utility oversight board voted Thursday to move forward with three programs, including an incentive program for new home buyers. The program offered rebates of $3,000 to $6,000 for homes upgraded for energy efficiency, water conservation and other features before it expired.

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware's renewable energy task force is recommending that the state's Sustainable Energy Utility be involved in an upcoming procurement process for solar renewable energy credits.

The task force voted Wednesday to recommend the SEU's involvement in the 2013-2014 procurement process, despite concerns about ongoing annual administrative costs of about $200,000 for the SEU and its contractor under a 2012 pilot program.

NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Members of the board overseeing Delaware's Sustainable Energy Utility are meeting amid heightened public scrutiny of the energy efficiency program.

The SEU oversight panel was scheduled to meet Friday morning at the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control offices in New Castle.

Lawmakers voted in 2008 to establish the oversight board to help promote energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in Delaware.
