Thousands Attend Tawes Crab & Clam Bake

Jul 18, 2019

It may have been hot yesterday but thousands showed up for the 43rd annual J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake in Crisfield.

Among those mingling with the crowd were Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and the Mayor of Salisbury Jake day.

Hogan may not be able to run for reelection but told the Salisbury Daily Times that he tries to make the all-you-can eat event.

Meanwhile, Day told the paper that he did have an election that he was gearing up for.

Scott Tawes told the Salisbury Daily Times that there were 280 bushels of crabs, 2-thousand pounds of fish and 38-thousand clams served up this year.
