Don Rush

Don Rush is the News Director at Public Radio Delmarva (WSCL/WSDL) in Salisbury, Maryland on the campus of Salisbury University. He has spent the last 35 years in broadcast journalism specializing in national politics. Before coming to Salisbury he spent 12 years in Washington DC with the Pacifica Network News bureau. During the 1980’s he was News Director at KFPK in his home town of Los Angeles. He also worked for the Los Angeles based wire and audio news service CNS/RNW. Locally, he has become an award winning journalist covering everything from development and environmental issues to local politics.

That was the question before a forum held by the Wicomico Neighborhood Congress held on the campus of Salisbury University last week.

Delmarva Today 10-14-2011 Watershed Implementation Plan

The Environmental Protection Agency has ordered that the Chesapeake Bay go on what's called a "pollution diet".  

 

Maryland counties have been charged with developing a Water Implementation Plan . They have until November 18th to submit a draft of their plans to the Maryland Dept. of the Environment.

 

Meanwhile, the EPA's plans have also drawn opposition with a lawsuit filled by the American Farm Bureau Federation.

Protest Over Keystone Pipeline

MD – More than a thousand protesters have been arrested outside the White House, trying to persuade the administration not to give the final okay for construction of the Keystone XL pipeline that would bring tar sand oil from Canada to Texas for refining. John Grout with the Wicomico Environmental Trust demonstrated outside the White House and talks about the issue of the pipeline.
