An investigation has been launched into the death of an inmate in the custody of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections.
23-year-old Wayne Dean Davis Jr. was pronounced dead at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center on Friday afternoon.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the cause and manner of his death have not been released.
The paper reports that there were three open cases against him according to court documents.
Because of the active investigation details were not expected until at least today.
