The University of Maryland Eastern Shore has a new president.
Heidi Anderson will take over effective September 2st and she replaces Juliette Bell who left the post in July.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that she has two decades of experience in higher education including as former provost and vice president for academic affairs at Texas A&M University.
At that institution she oversaw a $35 million budget and 22 academic departments.
Anderson said that as a “first-generation student” she was particularly impressed with the university’s emphasis on student success.
Anderson earned an M.S. in Education among other degrees at Purdue University.
