Salmonella Hits Chincoteague Cook Off

CDC

A food-cook off in Chincoteague is the source of an outbreak of Salmonella.

Officials are trying to get in touch with around 2-thousand who attended the Chincoteague Chili and Chowder Cook Off on Saturday.

Some are from other states.

They are asking them to fill out surveys to help answer questions about the outbreak as well as letting them know they should contact their local physician.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that so far the Accomack County Health Department has heard from around 350 people who were at the event.
