Romney Wins Delaware Primary

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Mitt Romney has won Delaware's Republican presidential primary, turning back an upset bid by former House speaker Newt Gingrich.

With Tuesday's victory, Romney continues his march toward the Republican presidential nomination and a November contest against President Barack Obama. Even before the results were in, Romney scheduled a visit to New Hampshire to begin what's billed as the next phase of his campaign.

Gingrich paid several visits to Delaware, hoping his brand of retail politics would resonate with voters.

Romney made a brief stop in Delaware, appearing in Wilmington just hours after former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum abandoned the race.
