Rob Arlett Jumps into Delaware U.S. Senate Race

official photo

Sussex County Council member Rob Arlett has decided to run for the U.S. Senate in Delaware.

He told the Salisbury Daily Times that he is highlighting bipartisanship, faith and family.

If he is successful in capturing the Republican nomination it is clearly an uphill battle in what is clearly a Blue state and against a longtime Democratic incumbent.

But Arlett told the paper that it is time for Senator Tom Carper to turn the baton over to a younger generation as opposed to keeping a career politician.

The Republican hopeful said that it wasn’t just a candidate but “a machine” that he would be challenging.

Carper has occupied the lone congressional seat in Delaware as well as serving as Governor of the state.

In his announcement Arlett was joined by state GOP Representatives Rich Collins, Ron Gray and Timothy Dukes as well as state Senator Bryant Richardson.
