ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Del. Kathy Szeliga is scheduled to make an announcement about plans regarding a potential run for U.S. Senate.

Szeliga, a Republican who represents parts of Baltimore and Harford counties, has scheduled a news conference at the City Dock in Annapolis on Tuesday.

She has been a member of the Maryland House of Delegates since 2011. She has been the House minority whip since 2013.

U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, a Democrat, announced earlier this year she would not seek re-election in 2016.
