Ocean City has a new and unusual visitor.

It’s The Draken -- a Viking ship that has made its way from Norway.

Hundreds of people watched its arrival as she made her way through the resort’s inlet.

Captain Bjorn Ahlander told WBOC that they were the first Europeans to build the biggest Viking ship in the world.

The replica is 115 feet long and 26 feet wide.

It also has a dragon’s head on the bow which is supposed to protect captain and crew during their journal.

Ahlander said the vessel was crafted after the original vessel and took two years to construct.

In addition to the Norwegians on board there were Americans as well.

Quinn Fields told the television station that he quit his job for a once in a lifetime opportunity.

He said he had learned about the collective suffering that brought people together – especially the physical labor and the tight quarters.
