Proposed Tax Credit for Student Loan Debt

Facebook

Delaware lawmakers will be looking at creating a tax credit for student loan debt when their session begins next year.

WBOC reports that state Senator Greg Lavelle said he would bring up the measure in January when the state legislature returns to Dover.

Under the proposal every ten years college graduates would be allow a credit of up to $25-hundred for those with more than $20-thousand.

The plan would require students to prove that the money went to pay off their student loan.

The television station says it is not clear how much this would cost the state in lost revenue.
