The Perdue School of Business is getting a $1 million commitment from a Baltimore-based foundation to offer as much as $200-thousand annually for those looking to create startup businesses.
The funds come from the Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation which hopes to have the new businesses opening within six months.
The aim the Shore Hatchery is to eventually have them employ five or more people within a year’s time.
Two and four year college graduates who live within the Mid-Atlantic region.
The selection will be done in a Shark-Tank style interview with a one minute presentation followed by a four minute question-and-answer session.
The two finalists will then deliver a 10-minute presentation with a 15 minute Q-and-A.
