Passover and Good Friday Specials on WSCL 89.5

Join us this Friday  March 30th at Noon for a performance by Apollo's Fire of George Fredric Handel's oratorio "Israel in Egypt".  From plagues and pyramids to the crossing of the Red Sea, this gripping story comes to life with reverence and triumph.

at 1:30- we air a special edition of "Sing For Joy" from St. Olaf's College to mark Good Friday. In spite of Good Friday’s reputation as a day not for singing, some of the most wonderful music of the ages has been written for it.

Next, at 2PM, join Itzhak Perlman for a special program, "A Musical Feast for Passover".

The springtime Jewish holiday of Passover is about liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt. In this one-hour special, superstar violinist Itzhak Perlman shares Passover music from many traditions, plus songs and memories from his childhood in Israel.

Join us on Easter Sunday for special editions of Sing for Joy and Music and the Spoken Word at 6AM, With Heart and Voice at 7AM (repeated at 10PM), Sunday Baroque at 10AM and Pipedreams at 6PM.

Chris Ranck is Delmarva Public Media's Executive Producer, Program Director and Automation Engineer.
