Offshore Wind Opponents Circulate Petition Against Ocean City Project

creative commons

There’s a petition going around by opponents of wind turbines off the shoreline of Ocean City.

WBOC reports that the petition is asking that they be placed 26 miles from the coast.

The project is now looking at 19 miles.

Wind developers say moving the turbines further out would violate the federally designated area for their placement.

There has already been push back from the resort’s officials who fear it may interview with the view enjoyed by tourists.
