Motorists Warned to be Careful on Roads This Morning

BALTIMORE (AP) - Maryland highway officials are asking drivers to stay off the roads early Friday morning with snow in the forecast.

The State Highway Administration says snow is expected to be falling during rush hour. Administrator Gregory Johnson says that's "the worst possible scenario" because commuters and salt trucks are on the roads at the same time.

Officials say the snow is expected to change to rain by mid-morning and drivers should try to delay travel until then.

Highway workers have been pre-treating interstates and major roads to prevent the snow from sticking.
