The pharmaceutical company Jubilant Cadista could bring 200 jobs to Wicomico County over the next 5 years.
The company is expected to spend $10-million to expand its facility by 96-thousand square feet.
Dave Ryan, executive director of Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development, says the project will also being construction jobs.
And, because the firm owned by Jubilant Life Sciences Limited develops and sells generic pharmaceuticals outside the region money will be brought back into the region.
Ryan told the Salisbury Daily Times that the additional manufacturing jobs will make up around 5 percent of that sector of the economy in the county.
The decision comes as shipping products from India to the U.S. has become more expensive.
