A lightning strike sent a lifeguard at the Cavalier Country Club Apartments in Christiana to the hospital.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that his name and condition has not been released.

The lightning struck at round 4:36 yesterday afternoon during a strong downpour over central New Castle County.

The paramedics said they found the man inside a small brick building next to the pool which is the location of the bathroom and a storage closet.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene after receiving a 911 call.

A firefighter told the paper that man appeared to be “pretty shaken up”.
