GOP Congressional Nominee Cries Racism Against Delaware Democrats

scott walker

The Republican nominee for Delaware’s lone House seat Scott Walker has accused the state’s Democratic congressional delegation and its governor of being racist.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that he took aim at Delaware’s first African American congressional member Lisa Blunt-Rochester calling her an “Aunt Tom”.

During a long rant he called the state’s senior Senator Tom Carper who is running for reelection a “redneck” and described former Vice President Joe Biden as a “racist loser.”

The paper reports that Walker stood by his Facebook posts claiming that these officials’ policies and work have had a disparate impact on minorities.

Congressional member Blunt-Rochester called the remarks negative and a distraction.

Other Democrats decline to comment but the state party called the remarks bigoted and hateful

As for the state’s GOP it distanced itself from Walker saying that while Walker is a Republican-endorsed candidate his remarks do not reflect how the Republican Party feels.
