Dover Wastewater Pump Station Fails

all free download

Dover officials are trying to figure out why all six pumps at the Dover Wastewater Pump Station 7 failed yesterday afternoon.

WBOC is reporting that an access road off of Route 13 was closed while crews put in a temporary fix.

The city says Kent County has lent the municipality an 8-inch bypass pump to keep the wastewater flowing and to drain the station so that the pumps can be inspected.

City officials tell the television station that it will be several days before they can find out what went wrong.

Only one local business was effected and officials stressed drinking water is not involved.
