Delmar Residents Urged to Stay In Doors as Authorities Search for Suspect in Shooting (Update)

Wicomico County Sheriff's Department

DELMAR, Md. (AP) - Wicomico County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a suspect in a fatal shooting in Delmar.

Sheriff Mike Lewis says 29-year old Eddie Savage Jr. is wanted in the shooting death of 48-year-old Kenneth Sparks of Hurlock. Lewis says the men argued Sunday night before the shooting in a driveway on Foskey Lane.

Officials say Sparks, who was shot in the face, was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, but was pronounced dead.

Lewis told the Salisbury Daily Times that a weapon has been recovered but did not elaborate.

Lewis also said that it appears to be a domestic related incident.

But he added that Savage is still considered to be armed and dangerous and local area residents are urged to stay indoors and keep their doors locked.

Deputies say Savage walks with a limp and was last seen wearing a red tank top and gym shorts.

This is the only slaying this year in Wicomico County.
