Delaware Court Consider Traffic Issue in Barley Mill Plaza Development

Developers Plans

Traffic took center stage at the court hearing in Dover in the Barley Mill Plaza development on Delaware Route 141 and Lancaster Pike into a 1.6 million-square-foot shopping center.

Jeff Goddess, attorney for the citizens group Save Our County, argued that the County Council approved the rezoning of 37 acres in Greenville for retail development after being told by a lawyer for the developer that they could not consider traffic issues under a 2010 amendment to County Law.

The Wilmington News Journal report that the amendment pushed the consideration of traffic to the end of the process.

But, Goddess said the development was being considered under a previous 2010 process.
