Breast Cancer Center Opens in Salisbury

Peninsula Regional Health System website

The Peninsula Regional Health System cut the ribbon for its new Breast Cancer Center in Salisbury.

It’s located on Snow Hill Road and will provide services ranging from 3-D mammography and biopsies to surgical procedures and consultations with a physician.

Allison Gull with the American Cancer Society told WBOC that the center is designed to be a one-stop shop.

She said that the system’s strategic plan intentionally placed breast cancer screening and breast cancer therapy under one roof after hearing from women in the community.

The Peninsula Health System says that on average one in every eight women will face a breast cancer diagnosis.
