Police found the body of a woman along the Pocomoke River on Saturday morning.

Authorities say police and other emergency personnel arrived on the scene at round 10:30 a.m.

It was at the end of Winter Quarters Drive off northbound Route 13 near the city golf course.

She has been identified as a 66-year old woman from Pocomoke City.

WBOC reports that her car was discovered later at Cypress Park.

The authorities say she had a history of mental illness and that there were no apparent signs of foul play.

Her body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy.
