There have now been 31 confirmed deaths from the flu in Delaware this season.
A 62-year-old New Castle woman is the latest casualty.
It’s reported that she had underlying health conditions.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that this is the deadliest flu season to hit the First State out distancing the record set in 2014-2015 when 28 confirmed deaths were report.
The state has been keeping records since 2004.
But Delaware officials told the paper that the worst of the season is probably over with the number of confirmed cases and hospitalization declining in recent weeks.
